More on PEI

Yesterday we roamed around Stratford and Charlottetown a bit. In the afternoon the 4 of us went to see "Yesterday" at the Charlottetown cinema. We all really enjoyed it, and Beatle tunes were running around in our heads afterwards. Later Nancy beat Cathie in their cribbage series, 2 games to 1.

The above pic is a new kind of crosswalk recently installed at a Stratford crossing. A supply of the orange/red flags is provided on each side. When crossing, take a flag so the motorists know you want to cross. It seems to work well.

Today we departed from Nancy and Pat's driveway, saying goodbye until mid-August or so. We always enjoy our time with them. However, time to move along.

And move we did. With no real destination in mind, we ended up finding a site in the Cavendish National Park campground. We didn't expect to get a site here, but when we tried they had several open for a night. This is a really nice seashore/beach park:

Our no-hookup site. Most of the vacancies had 2-way hookups.
Here's a few snaps of the main beach. Remember, this is pretty near peak season and a fine beach day. Notice how crowded it isn't:

Here's one of our favourite pictures from the same park on a trip we took in 2012:

Tonight there was a ceilidh (pronounced kaylee) held at a small band shell almost in front of our site. Because of the looming storm clouds, with rumbling and lightning in the distance, the gathering was moved to a shelter even closer to us.

These pictures were taken from the van, seemed like a real good place for us to stay:
