First though, I decided to get a haircut. It was getting kinda long for camping, and I had noticed a barbershop just around the corner from the campground:
It looked like an actual old-fashioned barber shop, and it kind of was. Some lady (Cathie) stopped by and took a snap of me in the chair:
The barber shop opened up at 8am. Since we didn't actually get up until 8:30 this morning (almost unheard of!) the day was off to a slow start for a travel day. We were only heading for the Baddeck area though, and it was a really enjoyable haircut and beard trim. It will be much easier for casual camping.
Once again we checked out a couple of campgrounds before settling in to Baddeck Cabot Trail campground. A high and dry site, so far pretty much bug free. They had over an inch of rain last night along with high winds. Hope that's gone for a while. We've signed up here for 3 nights, to get us through the weekend and give us a base for doing some Cape Breton roaming.
Love that area and good base for the Cabot trail. Enjoy your touring and glad you like the Google interactive map , play with it for a while and you will really like it. Keep having too much fun there we do need to get that way again., Looking for more pictures from you guys.
ReplyDeleteI like the detail with the Google map. Apparently it doesn't come through with the auto-emailed copy of the blog. Did/do you have that issue?
DeleteGreat pic,, gord!
ReplyDeleteGlad ur there! Way too hot here now!
Will enjoy ur pics,,,
Love cape breton,,,have fun,,,
We're enjoying the relatively cool temps compared to Ontario, that's for sure.
DeleteCan't believe you're in Baddeck already! It seems so far away. And thanks for the map hint.
ReplyDeleteWhen you're used to driving days to get out of Ontario, it's hard to remember how relatively short the distances are out here. You can drive pretty near anywhere in the Atlantic provinces in a day. Cape Breton Canso Causeway was less that 100 km from PEI, the way we came.
