Touring Highlands Hammock by bicycle

This morning (Thursday) we got the bikes out and toured some of the park roads, and hiked some trails too. The tram ride yesterday gave us the park overview, so no navigation issues today.

A pretty large tree for Florida

Even maple trees here (Acers)

Hiking trails got more into wetlands, mostly on boardwalks.

Some wildlife likes the tree roots and water too:

The gators we saw in these areas were relatively small, maybe 3-4 feet long.

We made reservations today for later park stays, 4 nights at Manatee Springs, and later 8 nights at Panama City. Not what we like doing, but necessary in Florida right now.
