Prince Rupert to Fort Fraser BC

13C and overcast at 7am PDT. A large bald eagle flew out of the nearby picnic shelter as we drove out of the cg. We stopped later along the river to cook an egg and toast breakfast. Then we stopped at the Terrace Walmart again. Gord napped while Cath got a few groceries.

A black bear with 2 cubs crossed the road just in front of a transport truck, barely clearing it.

It was a really nice drive today, across hwy 16 from Prince Rupert towards Prince George. Smithers was a prosperous-looking town. Pretty foothill scenery as we got away from the coast.

We camped at Piper Glen cg, just outside Fort Fraser BC. A lovely spot, on a terraced hillside above a pretty lake. We didn’t realise there were train tracks between us and the lake until later on! No problem though. $24 with w/e.
