After another early start, we were going through Campbell River when we saw these chain-saw carvings on display in a roadside park. The detail was amazing! They are all wood.
It was a fairly short drive today. With the weekend coming up and no reservations, we wanted to get camped for a couple of days. By checking in about 11 am, we got the last spot in the park. Full hookups and more $$ than the last 2 nights, but good facilities and a 15 minute walk into Telegraph Cove. The little town is very congested, would likely take us the same 15 minutes to drive and get parked.
Here's a few pics of "downtown" Telegraph Cove. It's a small town, with 5 residents in the winter.
A nice little cottage on the main wharf area |
Busy marina traffic. |
Real waterfront housing! |
A relic from bygone days |
A nearby Bald Eagle kept an eye on things |
Mysterious ship anchored nearby |
Cathie found the bridge a bit shaky |
The hike back via the woodsy trail |
Today's route:
Really love those chain saw carvings, nice that you got a campsite for the weekend
