Around the Okanagan valley BC

We've been playing tourist around the Okanagan area for a couple of days. Here's a few pictures to give a flavour of what we've been seeing.

These 6 pics below were taken right around Donna and Bob's house near Skaha Lake:

Headless deer

This deer thinks it's hidden. Look for the ears.

Looking out towards Skaha Lake. No smoke today!

Lots of deer around

The neighbor's landscaped back yard

Can you see the ram's head in the middle of the pic?

Of course one must visit some of the 120+ wineries in the area:

Cathie and Donna enjoying the winery store

Grape vines and view from See Ya Later Ranch

Curious fawns right beside the winery

An extended quail family crosses the road. See the chicks?

Nesting Osprey nearby
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we'll be packing up and heading towards Vancouver, to catch a Wednesday ferry to Vancouver Island.

Thanks so much for your hospitality Donna and Bob!!

  1. I have been by Skaha Lake several times on my way between Vernon and Osoyoos. About 6 years ago on the internet we were looking at houses and properties for sale east of Osoyoos around Oliver with the thoughts of maybe packing up here in Ontario and heading on out to the west coast to live. Have been to Vancouver Island several times and liked it over there too. That's a nice scenic trip you folks are on for sure.
