Okanagan Falls north to Williams Lake BC

Neighbor's driveway, Skaha Lake barely visible, from D&B's front porch

As always, Cathie enjoyed her visit with her sister Donna. Walks, talks, cribbage games and reading accounted for most of the activity.

Cathie was the cribbage champion by a very slim margin

Beautiful view from nearby dog-walking park

Donna and Sergie

Always some quail around, but no chicks yet

Curious deer at the dog walk

It's getting dry, so watering restrictions are in place now:

When we crept out of Donna and Bob's driveway this morning about 5:15 PDT (an hour earlier than we thought, because "somebody" forgot to adjust our travel clock to PDT from MDT!), we weren't sure where we were going. So we decided to just start and figure it out as we went. We considered winding over to Jasper and north from there, but ended up deciding to try for the Yukon as we had sort of planned.

We stopped for a snack break at a BC boat launch/day use park area:

A little misty this morning, rainy at times

In Merritt, a sign of the times with a cluster of chargers for Tesla EV's:

Some scenery along the way. The morning was pretty wet and misty, but it cleared up quite a bit later on:

Eroded hills look like sand, but aren't

Fire damage to trees visible in lots of places

We stopped at a museum in the Williams Lake Visitors Center. Some  very nice displays of antiques, and as often happens it made us feel like antiques when we recognize a lot of the items:

A restored phone booth from the village

Several well-used saddles on display, with local history

Tonight we're camped at an actual waterfront site a ways north of Williams Lake. It's pretty luxurious, with showers and WiFi. Nice views:

An added bonus- 2 Loon chicks hitching a ride from Mom

They don't always ride

  4. A protective Mama deer lunged at Sergie on his Mon. walk but he ignored her, didn't even bark. Our gas is 216.9 today in the Okanagan. Donna B
