We had asked at the Visitor Canter about laundry etc, and were pointed at a place out on nearby highway 80 that offered facilities:
Laundry was $3.50, and showers were $2.50 each, very reasonable. This was a little oasis of a place with a pond and lots of bird life, including a flock of noisy yellow-headed blackbirds.
Back at the campsite we had some lunch, and hung out a clothesline to finish drying the laundry. What a great spot!
Later I toured another self-built Sprinter van. Pat and Corinne were together 18 years before allowed to marry in Washington State. They later came and toured our van and had a visit, a nice couple of ladies.
Later still we were able to sit out in Tshirts and shorts with a G&T. The nights are cool, but it warms up nicely during the day.
The couple in the site before us had a hummingbird feeder or two, and had a lot of activity. Without the feeders we just caught glimpses of big blue-throated hummers.
After supper we took a nearby hike, up into the hills a bit. Some faraway rock bluffs glowed in the setting sun’s rays:
It was late enough that we started to worry about being out after dark, but we made it back to camp in the last light.
