We feel like we're getting used to the altitude somewhat, so went for a fairly short hike today. We caught the shuttle near the c.g. to Bear Lake. From there we hiked to 3 small lakes, about 4 miles return. The kicker was that the hike started at just over 9,400 ft, and went up over 600 ft to the 3rd lake, making it over 10,000 ft elevation. 2 days ago we couldn't have done this at all. Today it was more just the usual hiking fatigue!
It's a gorgeous day again. Only 6C at 6:30 am, but sunny and up to 16C in mid-afternoon. There was also the usual bit of rain in mid-afternoon, due to the sun heating the mountain air. In the summer this often produces thunderstorms, sometimes quite severe, but it's mostly short showers this time of year.
