Beth's driveway to St Michel

We pulled out about 10:20, after a fine breakfast provided by our hosts. We seem to be starting later and covering fewer km than we usually do, is this going to be normal with the van?

We had a lovely drive thru Smith’s Falls and Merrickville on #43, and arrived at Lancaster about lunchtime, just the right time for a Denny’s lunch off their senior’s menu, and our first diesel fillup of the trip.

After lunch we headed into Quebec and across the new bridge to Hwy 30, a $3 toll for the van, but a very nice change from Montreal routes in years gone by. Well worth $3 (or $30!).

We took Hwy 30 Est then 20 Est until we were east of Quebec City, then headed down to hwy 132 for the rest of the eastbound trip.

Hwy 132 runs right along the St Lawrence River, starting pretty much at the Ontario border. We stayed on Hwy 20 to exit 348 though, to avoid urban driving in Montreal, Trois-Riviere and Levis.

After a time on 132, we stopped at Camp St Michel about 5:50 pm. It sounded good, but find another place next time. $41.
The St Lawrence was but a short walk away though:
